“From small ideas, big things grow.” » This is probably what a handful of residents of Ergué-Armel were saying on Saturday evening, December 21. To mark the end of the year, they decided to organize a friendly meal between neighbors, not a sumptuous Christmas banquet, but a simple and warm meal, organized at the Maison pour tous (MPT) in the neighborhood.
In collaboration with the MPT staff, who offered logistical support, the menu had previously been defined: aperitif, varied appetizers, veloutés, salmon, vegetable cakes, cakes and wine, for a contribution of €5. Starting on Friday, around twenty volunteers joined forces to do the shopping, prepare the dishes, and transform the large room into a welcoming place. Several local brands generously offered food.
A real cabaret
To enhance the evening, two musical groups, Nickel des pieds à quatre mains and Out off the wood, performed. These artists, deprived of the stage during the summer festival due to bad weather, took the opportunity to play this time. A platform and a thick curtain transformed the room into a real cabaret.
The guests were able to enjoy their meal to music, while a dance floor invited the youngest to perform a few steps in front of the musicians. To allow parents and grandparents to fully enjoy the evening, a games room run by Marie, MPT early childhood facilitator, took care of the youngest ones.
In an atmosphere that was both simple and festive, this neighborhood meal was a beautiful illustration of the collective and the good spirit that drives Ergué-Armel.
