It was with her husband Georges Fillioud that Danièle Evenou decided to come and live near the Sorgue. Far from the tumult of Paris, the Vaucluse places she frequents inspire serenity and gentleness in her.
Navigate the Sorgue aboard a Négo Chin
Despite the water being 12 degrees, Danièle Evenou boarded a “Négo Chin”. On this small wooden boat typical of the region, which means drowning your dog because of its instability, Danièle Evenou lets herself sail along with the water thanks to Alain Prétôt. Fisherman, member of the Pescaire Lilen brotherhood and builder of “Négo Chin”, Alain has made a total of 147 boats since 1978. He is one of the only ones to perpetuate this traditional manufacturing.
Alain Prétôt takes Danièle Evenou to his hangar, where he makes his “Négo Chin”. This 5 meter long boat is made from spruce. One of its most surprising features: when not in use, it is filled with water so that the wood remains swollen and remains waterproof.
Ile-sur-la-Sorgue : capital of flea markets and antiques
Nicknamed the Venice of Provence, the city has more than 300 antique dealers grouped in six villages. Danièle's favorite “flea market island”. Here, Jean-Baptiste, Danièle's son and his partner Alisson have just settled. In their shop, you can find design objects from the 50s to the 80s that they hunt for, but also works by contemporary artists.
Like a second home, Danièle Evenou has made many friends on the “flea market island”. Among the forty exhibitors, Vincent and Thomas are his favorites. Specialists in pottery and ceramics, they collect and sell slips, Vallauris trivets and even earthenware by Émile Teissier.
Lagnes : a new beginning for Danièle Evenou
After the death of her husband Georges Fillioud and after 30 years in Bonnieux, Danièle Evenou chose to settle in Lagnes. In this small town, she made her new nest and set up a beautiful house full of surprises… There is indeed a theater stage on which Danièle Evenou rehearses her next play written by her son “80 years and no dust !”
Always ready to receive and share friendly moments with family and friends, Danièle Evenou loves cooking. She goes to the Lagnes inn to perfect her dishes, and in particular to learn how to make a tian. Provencal vegetables, local olive oil, thyme, garlic and a touch of love: a perfect recipe.
