Human Development Workshop broadcast on prison radio

From the JM Records studio, located in Ward 11 of Penitentiary number 31 of the Florencio Varela city, an initiative is born that breaks physical and emotional barriers: the radio program “Message from Silo”. This program, which is aimed at both inmates and the outside public, reflects the personal transformation and collective spirit that inspire the Humanist Movement.

A workshop that becomes a voice

Four years ago, a human development workshop was launched in the prisons of the province of Buenos Aires. This space, promoted by Gastón Vázquez, member of the Humanist Movement, and Franco, inmate, has become a key tool for the internal growth of its participants.

Today, the participants in these workshops have gone further: Amadeo, Sergio, Matías and Walter, with the technical support of Gastón, from the JM Records recording studio, have launched this radio program, in which they seek to transmit to listeners the message of peace, strength and joy that helped them transform their lives.

A radio program that encourages change

The program has a format that replicates the work of the Human Development Workshop. Each broadcast includes the reading of a chapter of Silo's texts, reflections on the content, meditations, ceremonies, and space to share personal discoveries.

Walter, one of the presenters, talks about how the workshops taught him to live better with others, to recognize his mistakes and to apologize, promoting values of empathy and humanity. For his part, Matías talks about the internal struggles and difficulties of prison life, emphasizing that the workshop helps them meditate, find peace and change their vision of things to adopt a more positive and serene perspective.

A message beyond the walls

The program is not only listened to inside the prison, it is also aimed at the outside public, opening a dialogue between different realities. With the aim of promoting non-violence and internal change, the program seeks to go beyond the limits of physical confinement to connect with those who are looking for tools to transform their lives.

The idea is to build a bridge, to carry the “Message of Silo » in every corner and to continue to demonstrate that, even in difficult contexts, transformation is possible.

An inspiring initiative

This project demonstrates the power of collective work and human inspiration. As its protagonists point out, real change begins within each individual, and sharing this message is a way to inspire others.

The « Message from Silo » is not just a radio program; it’s a window to hope, an invitation to reflection, and a reminder that with the right tools, we can all become better human beings.
