the essential
From January 16 to 18, 2025, the Aguiar brothers return to the forefront in Figeac with their “Fous” festival. An event that lives up to its name and which still arouses great enthusiasm among the public once again.
On the bill for their third festival at home, Marco and Bruno Aguiar are offering three shows on the stage of the Espace Mitterrand to kick off the year 2025 with a bang. From January 16 to 18, the two brothers from Figeac, become actors, return to play at home with undisguised happiness. A tradition now eagerly awaited by the local public. The adventure of “Fous”, the festival takes on a new dimension each year and enjoys success that continues with each edition. Already more than 2,000 places out of the 2,400 on sale this year have been purchased in a few weeks. “In fact, it's a little beyond us,” admits Marco. “The festival becomes a meeting place for certain people. I think that the tavern is an integral part of the event in addition to the play.” The emphasis is once again placed on the layout, decoration and atmosphere of this convivial space open to the public before and after the show. “It’s still 12 km of garlands and we have once again pushed the walls” smiles Bruno.
Three shows on show
On stage, the festivities will be launched on Thursday evening with Laurent Baffie's play “Les Bonobos” in which Marco and Bruno reunite. “We have been playing it for five years. We wanted to offer it from the start” specify the actors, delighted to bring to Figeac the plays of 3 T, a Toulouse theater café where they each play around ten shows alternating throughout the year. year. “The director Gérard Pinter gives us the privilege of letting us manage the rights to the 3 T shows. The actors are also delighted to come. They are fighting to return to Figeac.” On Friday evening, “O mon païs” gives way to a “rurally hilarious” comedy. Finally, on Saturday evening, “Le Gai mariage” will be programmed, a play written by the authors of “La Vérité si je mens”.
With less than a month to go before the event, the excitement is ramping up a notch. The Aguiar brothers manage the final details of the festival organization with their association Imao Prod and ensure promotion by distributing posters. Like every year, they can count on the mobilization of a dedicated team of volunteers, all friends. “They are really driving forces. It’s been the same since the beginning, around 70 people.” The partners who support their project are also increasingly numerous to join them. “Everything is ready, now we’re trying to set up some surprises…” warn Marco and Bruno.
