Ariana Grande confirmed to Variety that it will be years before she returns to music. Obviously, an acting career tempts her more at the moment.
Ariana Grande has warned her fans that they will have to wait “years” before she returns with new songs.
The 31-year-old singer, who has had a string of hits since 2011, released her seventh album, Eternal Sunshine, last March.
She has thrilled her fans on four high-energy tours over the years.
But after attracting praise and box office success thanks to her role in the musical Wicked, Ariana Grande has announced that she is taking a break from music indefinitely.
The One Last Time singer told Variety: “I’m very grateful to be performing, and I think my fans know that music and being on stage will always be a part of my life. But I don’t see that happening anytime soon.”
She warned: “I think the next few years we will explore different art forms, and I feel at home as an actress right now. I appreciate (my fans’) understanding. I’m so grateful for how we’ve grown together throughout this journey with Wicked.”
She was quick to add: “But music will always be a part of my life. I will perform in my mother’s house.
Fans can currently see her playing Glinda Upland in Wicked – Part I, and she will reprise her role in Wicked: For Good, which hits theaters in November 2025.
