3D show, concerts and fireworks: the “grandiose” program for December 31 on the Champs-Élysées

End this memorable year in spectacular fashion. For the last time in 2024, the Avenue des Champs-Élysées (8th arrondissement) is about to vibrate. To “relive the best moments of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games”. And to “party together”. Télévisions, partner of the festivities, and the City of Paris promise “grandiose” December 31 celebrations.

From 7 p.m., on the evening of the transition to the year 2025, the celebrations will begin on the best-known Parisian thoroughfare, which is expecting more than a million people. A “pre-show” will launch the hostilities of this evening called “Paris on its 31st!” “, in order to “allow each spectator to settle into the festive atmosphere from 7 to 9 p.m.”.

At the helm of this New Year’s Eve, the company Immersia Production, specialized in large format video projection shows and a pioneer of monumental immersive experiences, is planning – for this first slot – a generative work of art accompanied by classics from our musical culture revisited by DJ Daauliac.

The Republican Guard at the rendezvous

From 9:10 p.m., the “Grande Soirée du 31 de Paris” will be broadcast live on France 2 and presented by Stéphane Bern. “A host of artists will perform and offer unique performances,” announces the public service channel. David Hallyday, Chimène Badi accompanied by 100 singers, the Totalement 80 troupe, Collectif Métissé, Lio, Cerrone – who had already performed at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games -, Dany Brillant, Titouan of Junior Eurovision, the Republican Guard and Imagination are on the program.

More than two hours of concerts and performances in which dancers from the Moulin Rouge and Paradis Latin will also participate, as well as the famous companies of the Phénix circus and Folies Gruss. In addition, numerous giant screens will be installed along the avenue so you don’t miss any of the show.

Throughout the evening, from several other emblematic Parisian locations, other stage performances will have all generations dancing: Kendji Girac, Jenifer, Michel Fugain, Jean-Louis Aubert, Amir, Eddy de Pretto or even the rappers KeBlack and Franglish .

“Epic” mapping on the Arc de Triomphe

As the countdown approaches, an “epic” 3D video mapping show on the Arc de Triomphe will begin at 11:50 p.m. and will evoke Paris with its many faces: “capital city, City of Light, city of culture, romantic city, creative city, innovative city , people’s city, festive city,” lists France Télévisions in a press release.

This 10-minute show, still produced by Immersia Production, will be staged by Jérémie Bellot and the AV-Extended studio, already at work during the exceptional projection on Notre-Dame de Paris during the performance of DJ Michaël Canitrot . The original soundtrack will this time be provided by composer Ena Eno and musician French 79.

A unique sound and light show on the tetrapyl built in the 19th century which will end with the traditional midnight countdown, followed by a choreographed fireworks display by Fêtes & Feux. The same DJ as at the start of the evening will return to accompany this fire “with a mix concocted for the occasion”, an entirely female playlist.

“Through the triptych of this show, I wanted to capture and celebrate the exceptional energy that animated Paris throughout 2024,” concludes Christophe Gillier, producer and artistic director of the show for the town hall. As our society goes through difficult times in many ways, it is crucial that Paris remains not only the City of Lights, but also a symbol of celebration and joy. »
