Family life: Born to an Art expert father and a historian mother, Matthieu grew up alongside a twin sister and an older brother.
Education: He trained at the La Cambre School of Art and Design in Brussels. When Raf Simons saw his graduation collection, he immediately hired him as a stylist.
Career: From 2011 he worked as a stylist at Maison Margiela, the design team being anonymous at the time. In 2014, the famous fashion journalist, Suzy Menkes, revealed her identity in “Vogue” magazine, citing a “talent not to be hidden”. Subsequently, he collaborated with Phoebe Philo at Céline, then, after a stint at Calvin Klein, ended up at Bottega Veneta. He has been artistic director there since 2021.
