In an episode of his podcast Miss me ? posted online on December 16 on the website of the BBCthe 39-year-old singer made worrying revelations about her state of mental health.
His thinness had already alerted more than one last October. Lily Allen now admits to suffering from eating disorders. In an episode of his podcast Miss me ? broadcast by the channel BBC On December 16, the 39-year-old British singer opened up about her poor mental health as well as her difficulties feeling hungry. Revelations which notably explain his weight loss, which had recently worried his thousands of fans.
In the episode, Lily Allen chats with her co-presenter and childhood friend Miquita Oliver about the topic of psychotherapy. It was during the conversation that the singer of the tube Smile confided: “I have been going through a difficult time in recent months and my diet has become a problem.”
“I'm not hungry”
Although the star has been suffering from these eating disorders for three years now, she only recently discussed them with her psychotherapist, she says. And for good reason: “My body and my brain are two very distinct things for me. I know that many people feel that these two things are very related to each other, but for me it is very different. I spend a lot of time in my head and little time thinking about my body,” she explained to her friend.

Mother of two daughters aged 13 and 11, Lily Allen admits to not being “in a good mental state at the moment”. Poor health which affects one’s diet: “I don’t eat. I'm not hungry. Well, I'm hungry, obviously, but my body and my brain are so disconnected from each other that hunger messages don't pass through my body to reach my brain. And the singer continues: “I don’t avoid food, but I don’t think about it because I’m too much in my head. My body is a few steps behind me.”
In the past, Lily Allen has already opened up about her personal struggles, whether it was her fight against drug addiction or her difficulties as a singer and a young mother. In 2021, when she was already the subject of concerns about her weight, she criticized these remarks and declared that she was in perfect health: “sober”, “no longer smoking” and “doing sports every day”, as reported then by Daily Mail . Although her mental health has deteriorated today, the singer seems to continue to make her well-being a priority.
