Every year since the 1960s, the Swedish University of Agriculture in Umeå has donated the fir trees that will decorate the royal palace in Stockholm during the holidays. The university sends students from its master’s degree in forestry to hand over the fir trees, which are received on site by members of the royal family. Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine accomplish this task, often accompanied by their children.
