The artist Souad El Maysour presents an intense sensory experience and discovers spiritual universes. The exhibition, curated by Mohammed Hamdouni, revolves around the power of ritual, exploring spiritual dimensions inaccessible through simple rationality. Souad El Maysour was born in 1970 in Casablanca, Morocco, and lives and works between Strasbourg and Fez. For many years, she has been operating in the field of art to weave networks of convergence between different historical and cultural trajectories. His dual culture, Moroccan and French, allowed him to develop a sensitive and complex approach to the patterns of domination between the so-called southern and northern countries. Souad’s work emphasizes the synthesis of visual arts and cultural anthropology, where each artistic creation serves as a narrative of the rich heritage of the Gnaoua and their complex societal roles. The choice of ceramics as the main medium is particularly significant; it resonates with traditional Moroccan art, linking modern expressions to historical practices.
