American television actress Jill Jacobson has died at the age of 70.

The star of Falcon Crest died on December 8 in Culver City, California, from esophageal cancer, her friend Daniel Harary announced to Variety et The Hollywood Reporter.

“Beautiful, energetic and positive to the end, she will be deeply missed by many family members, friends, and her beloved dogs Benny and Kowalski,” he commented.

Her manager Ben Padua described her as “beautiful, soulful, wildly funny (and) elegantly sassy”.

“Jill was a fiery actress, with comedic timing straight out of a Marx Brothers film and the Hollywood glamor of her golden age,” he continued in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “Jill took us on so many adventures and was absolutely brilliant. Thanks, Jill. We will see you in our dreams. »

Jill Jacobson is known in the United States for playing private detective Erin Jones in the soap opera Falcon Crest between 1985 and 1987, and Larue Wilson, the main character’s best friend in The New Gidget between 1986 and 1987.

She also guest starred in Star Trek in different roles.

She was also seen in Days of our Lives, Hung, Newhart, Castle, Madame is Served, Etheria et Code Quantum. In addition to cinema and television, she distinguished herself in theater and practiced stand-up.

The actress, who was a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society, opened up about her battle with esophageal cancer in the Jim Masters Show in September. “What I went through was very intense (…) Today, I am very grateful and I want to continue helping people.
