Each cultural season of lille3000 has its identity, each season creates memories among the inhabitants of the metropolis of Lille (North) and those who are passing through this period. The next one, scheduled for 2025begins to invite himself into the city, with the first clues. Mid-December 2024, a fresco was unveiled on the facade of the Théâtre du Nord, under construction. This is a change from the Christmas atmosphere!
A proposal from the City, while the theater is in full swing
For several weeks, the facade of the Théâtre du Nord has been hidden by scaffolding. A project aimed at giving a “freshening touch” to the building, described the director of the structure David Bobée at the beginning of the summer. Namely the restoration of the facade and the roof repair.
On the occasion of this project, the City of Lille offered to host a fresco. And what could be better than letting Lille3000 shine, at the dawn of the arrival of its new season? A season that promises to be grandiose, and even “sprawling” to use the expression of Sacha Dewavrin, in charge of visual arts for lille3000, since it will be available in the 95 municipalities of the Lille metropolis.
“Fiesta”, quite simply
The name of this season, “Fiesta”, is enough in itself for us to guess the atmosphere of this next season. We glimpse its colors with this fresco of artistes Benoit+Bo. A “visual creation [qui] celebrates the festival through cultural references and contemporary aesthetics,” describes lille3000.
While creative workshops took place in October at the Tripostal with the Belgian artist Shen Özdemir, and a call to participate in the grand opening parade is launched, we are eagerly awaiting the surprises that this new chapter has in store for us. .
The date to keep in mind for this 7and it issaying: the Saturday April 26for the traditional opening paradewhich will succeed Utopia in 2022 and ELDORADO in 2019.
