This Saturday, December 14 at the Vélodrome stadium, Olympique de Marseille and parted with a score of parity (1-1) at the end of a disputed match… and questionable refereeing decisions.

At the final whistle, the referee of the match, Willy Delajodhas been copiously whistled by the public and escorted to the locker room. He plans to file a complaint.

It was almost 7 p.m. when Willy Delajod whistled the end of OM-Lille. A few moments earlier, the referee had refused to award two penalties to the Olympians and had not deemed it useful to call a foul on LOSC’s equalizer, marred by a “block” on Léo Balerdi, Marseille defender and captain.

A rain of whistles descended from the stands on the man in black and on social networks, harassment and criticism were not long in coming, the latter sometimes being very virulent.

A complaint soon to be filed

A situation that the French Federation (FFF) does not tolerate, which announces, via a press release, that it condemns “with the greatest firmness the intolerable insults and threats, particularly on the networks, of which the referee Willy Delajod is the victim, at the continuation of the meeting between Olympique de Marseille and LOSC Lille, Saturday December 14, as part of the 15th day of the French Ligue 1 championship.

The FFF intends to reaffirm its full support for the referees, charged with a public service mission, in the face of these unacceptable and reprehensible actions. The FFF announces that it will become a civil party in the context of the filing of a complaint which Willy Delajod intends to proceed with.

De Zerbi charges the OM-Lille referee

At the end of the match, Roberto de Zerbi, the OM coach, lamented that Willy Delajob had “never had control of the match”, considering himself wronged by his decisions.

In the standings, the Olympians are still second in the Ligue 1 championship, behind PSG and tied on points with AS Monaco.
