Actor Philippe Car plays more than 40 characters on stage at the MJC Théâtre des 2 Points, tomorrow Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.

The Imaginary Travel Agency is back with The Fabulous Story of Edmond Rostand! (the illustrious author of Cyrano) tomorrow Tuesday December 17 at 8:30 p.m. at the Théâtre des 2 Points of the MJC. Giving body and voice to more than 40 characters, Philippe Car travels through the fascinating world of Edmond Rostand and draws on the most beautiful passages from his plays.

Philippe Car is alone on stage, well almost… Accompanied by a musician playing a kora and a manipulator, who makes accessories and decorative elements appear and disappear. It unfolds the thread of Edmond Rostand’s existence, from his birth to his death, the encounters that changed his life, his first experiences as an author up to the productions of his own shows. We experience the momentous encounters that Edmond made, his first experiences as an author and his career as director of his own shows.

The scenes are often an opportunity to hear the most beautiful passages from his plays and to play all the main characters, Cyrano, the Eaglet, Chantecler’s animals… With a very cinematic layout, the staging unfolds in a breathtaking rhythm, mixing puppets, shadow theater, mimes, projected images and sound archives.

It is a double tribute, to the man and to his work, that Philippe Car imagines here. To the man first, Provencal like him and born in in 1868, who will gradually turn to poetry and theater and experience success, at the age of 29, with Cyrano de . At work then, little known, forgotten, except for this famous Cyrano, such a marvelous and truculent Gascon that only a southerner could invent.

Philippe Car creates an incredible epic performance, both dreamlike and poetic.

All audiences. Duration: 1 hour 25 minutes. Reserve your places at the MJC reception, on 05 65 67 01 13 or at the online ticket office.
