Prestigious guest on Saturday December 21 for the Pays de Fougèr fanfare batteryes, on the occasion of his Sainte Cécile concert. The training chaired by Clément Gallet and directed by Nicolas Pringault will welcome l’ensemble Elephant Tuba Horde. A group of seven musicians (tubas, drums, piano) led by François Thuillier, “one of the great names in the tuba in the world” specifies Nicolas Pringault.
The Elephant Tuba Horde is the successor to another group, the Steckar Tuba Park, which had already performed in Fougères as part of the Sainte Cécile in 2003.
“It is therefore a question of tubathe incredible tuba of yesteryear which today is made into a solo instrument in its own right. No more curiosity and gadgetry, but room for creation and true musical expression. Between original compositions and specially revised arrangements, the Elephant Tuba Horde seduces, astonishes, and cannot leave you indifferent. It’s sometimes muscular, sometimes mellow, full of humor and always brilliant; everything is allowed! » savors one of the members of the group, Tom Caudelle.
On Saturday, December 21, in addition to Elephant Tuba Horde, the public will be able to appreciate the Drums fanfare and its fifty musicians.
“We will notably play a piece commissioned from one of Elephant’s tuba players, Tom Caudelle,” announces Nicolas Pringault.
Earlier in the day, the musicians of Elephant Tuba Horde will host a tuba master class at the Juliette-Drouet cultural center (2 p.m. – 6 p.m.). The participants will meet in the evening on the Juliette-Drouet set, in front of the public.
Saturday December 21, 8:45 p.m., Juliette-Drouet cultural center, Fougères. €10, reservations on the fanfare battery website.
