The restaurant of the Bernard-Fauvaud school group, in Lamonzie-Saint-Martin, has been awarded the Ecocert “level 1 cuisine” label. This label, created in 2013, is the first dedicated to organic collective catering. It promotes establishments of this type which introduce organic, local and healthy products.

The audit at Bernard-Fauvaud was carried out from January to October 2024. The certificate of conformity subsequently issued certifies that the restaurant complies with the following requirements: organic (23% organic products per year are served on the menus); local (at least four organic and local ingredients per month); healthy (no GMOs, no additives and hydrogenated fats, seasonal fruits and vegetables, etc.).

Many strong points were noted, particularly in terms of combating waste: part of the food leftovers are given to the chickens, the bread is distributed in small slices. A vegetarian menu is offered every week. On the other hand, other points need to be improved, such as the sorting and recovery of food waste.
