Quebec filmmaker Ken Scott will be a member of the jury at the next Alpe d’Huez International Comedy Film Festival, which will take place from January 13 to 19.
The director, awarded at the same festival for his film Starbuck in 2012, will share his task with filmmakers Gustave Kervern and Noémie Saglio as well as actors Tom Leeb and Izïa Higelin.
The actress Elsa Zylberstein will chair the jury. She is the only actress to have won the Interpretation Prize at Alpe d’Huez twice, either for Table Plan (2012) by Christelle Raynal and Everything smiles on us (2020) by Mélissa Drigeard).
“I am thrilled at the idea of returning to the Alpe d’Huez Festival. I love the films presented there, the idyllic setting at an altitude of 1860 meters, the generous audience and of course the festive evenings. But what delights me most about this magnificent festival is that each time I came to present a film, I left with the taste of writing another comedy,” declared Ken Scott in a press release.
Two of the director’s films presented as part of this festival received awards.
Starbuck notably won, in 2012, the Special Jury Prize as well as the Male Actor Prize, whileGoodbye happiness won, 10 years later, a collective male performance prize awarded to Antoine Bertrand, Louis Morissette, François Arnaud and Patrice Robitaille.
The full program will be announced gradually until the end of the year.
