The Jazz au Pays de Redon festival returns “in” and “off” until December 14

When the association Notes de Swing encounter Jérémie Mignotefacilitator of jazz sessions which liven up the Pays de Redon and Ploërmel all year round, it’s jazzy! This is evidenced by the rich program of the festival.

The “in” festivals

Saturday November 30, 2024. Kick-off at Rieux, Grenith roomstarting at 7:45 p.m. Three groups will be on the bill. THE Trio Various Tones offers an original repertoire ranging from bebop to contemporary jazz in an alternation of timbres.

At 8:30 p.m., the quartet Seventy Threewith saxophonist Alex Terrier, will replay the repertoire of the first two albums of Chick Corea’s legendary group: “Return To Forever” (1972) and “Light as a Feather” (1973).

At 10:15 p.m., will follow Audrey and the B sidesa young singer with a warm voice surrounded by musicians who will perform songs, jazz, swing and rhythm’n’blues with good humor.

Thursday December 5. Au P’tit Théâtre Notre-Dame de Redonmeet at 8:45 p.m. for the Harvest Moon Trio concert: swing, scat and rap full of charm and humor.

Saturday December 7. Room of Square 9 in Redon2nd big evening with from 7:45 p.m., the PAD Trioa refined instrumental group, combining jazz standards, Cuban Music and bossa nova.

At 8:30 p.m., the saxophonist Baptiste Herbin and trumpeter Nicolas Gardel joined by the pianist Laurent Coulondre and the drummer Yoann Serrait is a meeting of virtuosos from the French and international scene.

At 10:15 p.m., the group March Mallow will bring to life the music of Nat King Cole and Billie Holiday.

The “off” festivals

For several years now, flautist Jérémie Mignotte has been catalyzing the cream of jazz musicians from the Pays de Redon and Ploërmel during jazz sessions. Its “off” festival will delight all lovers of blue notes!

Friday November 29. Bar Le Triskel in Redon. At 7 p.m., Erwan Hamon (wooden transverse flute and bombarde) and Janick Martin (diatonic accordion) will play “The ineffable nocturnal fantasies of Frédéric Lambierge dit Gazman”. Free

Friday December 6. At La Maison Bainsoise in Bains-sur-Oust. At 8:30 p.m., Le Hot Club de R’don will pay tribute to gypsy swing master Django Reinhardt. With Joran Marsac and Maxime Lhermitte on guitar and Jean-Sébastien Hellard on accordion. Concert followed by a jam session. Free entry, bar and catering on site.

The “off” will continue until December 14.
