The illness of the father (Frédéric) almost damaged the first feature film of this rare father/son duo of directors. The desire deep within the body got involved and there you have it Prodigious on our screens.

Inspired by a true story

Inspired by the true story of twins Audrey and Diane Pleynet, the scenario puts us in the footsteps of two young girls whose pianistic talent is indisputable.

Moreover, it is in a large German institute that they are perfecting themselves under the implacable rule of a man named Lenhardt. In full ascension, the two virtuosos are caught up by an orphan disease which seriously handicaps their wrists. Give up everything? Certainly not, especially since they are supported head on by parents who have sacrificed everything for their careers.

Claire and Jeanne, first names of the twins in the film, will invent another piano method by rewriting the scores for four hands in order to save their tendons and muscles.

Camille Raziat and Mélanie Robert play fair

A beautiful story highlighting pugnacity, will, courage, resilience and passion. But this film also plows other furrows, those illuminating as much the oversized ego of these righteous teachers capable of creating competition machines and not artists, as the real hysteria of parents devoting their lives to success, whatever it costs, their children. Even if it means seriously upsetting them. This is also the case in sport, dance, etc.

Camille Razat (Claire) and Melanie Robert (Jeanne)[toutes deux originaires de Toulouse, ndlr] embody with incredible virtuosity these two sisters who will courageously cling to the raft of their artistic survival.

Franck Dubosc and Isabelle Carré are the terrifying parents who must face the possible disappearance of a dream projected onto their offspring. As for August Wittgenstein (Lenhardt), he is certainly not very far from these keyboard tyrants who claim to be makers of geniuses, a sort of deus ex machina, and ultimately simple technicians. To meditate!
