2 Linkin Park, Muse… It’s not forbidden to dream!
As we like to dream, we also thought about big groups. In the first place, Linkin Park. Seven years after the death of its lead singer Chester Bennington, the band relaunched this fall, as reported by France Info: new singer (Emily Armstrong), new album and world tour in 2025 (they will also be at the Stade de France on July 11). Except that the demand for the American group is enormous, that its cachet must be too (remember that the Charrues recorded a deficit of a million euros during their last edition), and that it seems to favor metal festivals .
The names ofImagine Dragons and of The Cure were also discussed between us. Problem: the former will be in concert in Poland in the middle of the Carhaisian festival, while the latter have confided that they will not go on tour again until the fall of 2025. To applaud Robert Smith’s group in Kerampuilh, we are therefore betting rather on 2026…
Finally, we do not exclude the arrival of Muse in Carhaix. The band has an intimate history with Les Charrues, where it has already appeared four times, and it is already scheduled for three festivals in northern Europe in June 2025.
3 Of course there will be rock!
Since we’re talking about rock, let’s continue down this path. The Black Keyswho released an album in April 2024, will be on the festival road this summer. Already scheduled for Beauregard, in Normandy, on July 5, and the next day at Nuit de l’Erdre, near Nantes, we can clearly see the American duo passing through Carhaix then… This would give them time to then head to Benicàssim, in Spain, where they are scheduled for Saturday July 19.
Franz Ferdinand could also be there, since the Scots are on tour and will release a new album in January. At the beginning of July, they are also scheduled in Albi, at the Pause Guitare festival. We also rely on the presence of The Last Dinner Partyscheduled at several festivals next summer and notably at Lollapalooza Paris on July 18. This English group brings together only female musicians, a significant asset for the Charrues who seek to feminize their poster. Finally, we can imagine a third visit to Kerampuilh for The Woman (after 2013 and 2017), because the group has just released an album and will be on tour next summer.
4 Rap, today essential
Another essential style, especially if the Charrues want to lower the average age of their audience: rap. Low could for example take revenge on the 2020 edition, during which it was scheduled but which was canceled due to the covid crisis. And will he be alone, or with his sidekick Child (who was in Carhaix in 2022)? The two singers recently released “Goat”, a joint album, and have a series of concerts planned together next year…
Three other rappers, who have never come to Carhaix, could arrive this summer in Kerampuilh: will be born, We eat et Veronacurrently on tour. The last two named are also scheduled on the same day at the Sion sous les étoiles festival, in Switzerland, on Saturday July 19, 2025, while Gims is announced in Nîmes and Carcassone.
We also put a coin on Gringeon tour and with a new album in hand, and Damsoscheduled for Les Ardentes, in Belgium, at the beginning of July.
5 What if it was the return of DJ Snake?
Another style popular with young people: electro. A name is currently circulating in many other festivals: DJ Snakewhich is an almost flawless guarantee for ticketing. Thus, it only took Beauregard an hour to sell out the 30,000 seats for his evening bringing together the French DJ and the Black Eyed Peas, as reported by Tendance Ouest. So of course, he already shook Kerampuilh (and us!) a short time ago, in 2022… But why not?
We also rely on the presence of Justicewhich toured extensively in the summer of 2024… But not in Brittany! Being a bit chauvinistic, it is estimated that they will not be able to avoid the region two years in a row, and that they will choose its biggest festival. Moreover, the French duo is scheduled for the Colors of Ostrava festival, in the Czech Republic, on Thursday July 17, which then gives them time to head west before the end of Les Charrues.
We conclude this “boom boom” session with three other names: Kompromata duo composed of Vitalic and Rebeka Warrior currently on tour and scheduled, notably, in Beauregard at the beginning of July; Kavinskywho will be at We Love Green in June; And Nico Morenofor the techno quota.
6 The French scene: Zaho, obviously
And what about French song? One name seems obvious to us: Zaho de Sagazanwhose popularity has exploded in a few months (four Victoires de la Musique won this year, opening of the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games, etc.). We don’t see how the singer could miss this meeting, after a first notable appearance on the Kerouac stage in 2023. And there is no doubt that in 2025, she will have the honors of the big stage.
Other artist who could perform in Kerampuilh: Yseult. She has also been in the spotlight recently, singing at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympics, but also thanks to her song “Alibi” – featuring Sevdaliza and Pabllo Vittar – which was one of the most listened to in the world this year, as reported by Elle. The coming of Clara Luciani also seems plausible to us (she ticks the triple “new album/tour in 2025/programming in festivals next summer”), while we have not excluded Louanewhose profile fits well with the DNA of Les Charrues. Her tour will begin in the fall of 2025… What if she took a quick trip to Carhaix beforehand to run her show?
Another serious candidate: Julien Doréwho has already played twice at Les Charrues, in 2009 and 2014. The singer has just released an album and is already scheduled for several festivals this summer: Nuit de l’Erdre, Musilac, Les Francofolies d’Esch-sur-Alzette in Luxembourg… Moreover, this last festival will welcome two other artists who interest us: Ben Mazuewho has a series of concerts planned in 2025 and who we can see returning to Carhaix after his performance during the reduced edition of 2021, and Yodelicewho has just released an album and will launch his tour. Note that -M-, faithful to Les Charrues, will not be part of the Carhaisian party because its programming at Bobital is a Breton exclusive.
Finally, we always believe in surprise Indochinaregularly scheduled at festivals. For the moment, the group does not have any on its agenda, but will be on tour next year…
7 That little vintage side that we love so much…
What would Les Charrues be without this little vintage perfume that brings together all generations? For the 33rd edition, we are counting on Alanis Morissette. Currently on a world tour, the Canadian is scheduled for several European festivals in July 2025, including that of Carcassonne on the 13th, a few days before the launch of Les Charrues.
Also on our shelves, MC Solaarwhose career began almost thirty-five years ago. The unclassifiable rapper released a new opus this year, in the form of a triptych. He has been playing dates for several months and is scheduled for several festivals next summer, notably at the Nîmes festival on July 15 where he will play the same day as… Jean-Louis Auberta name that is also part of our list. The two singers also took part in the same edition of Les Charrues, in 1998… And could travel together from Nice to Carhaix!
Among those over 75, the presence of Louis Chedid – who is on tour and whose new album, “Rêveur, rêveur”, has just been released – and that ofAlain Souchoncurrently on tour with his two sons, seem plausible to us.
8 Finally, our little darlings
We’ve already gone very long… So we’re going to keep it short to end with our little darlings who already have dates planned for next year, and who could easily add Carhaix to their agenda.
