The Kamo Play show returns for its fourth edition on November 30 and December 1 at the Exhibition Center. This event dedicated to pop culture and the geek universe will extend over more than 8,500 square meters“a paradise for geeks” according to some regulars.

A show for everyone… and for all ages

Sophie (her name has been changed to maintain anonymity, Editor’s note) is 29 years old. She is an executive in a large company in downtown Dijon. At work, she negotiates every week multi-million euro transactions. But on weekends, she “releases the pressure” by indulging in his passion: Japanese culture. Sophie is a regular at the Kamo Play salon since its beginnings.

She shares her experience: “Every year, Kamo Play is an unmissable event for me. The atmosphere is incredible and the activities offered are always varied. During previous editions, I had the chance to meet actors and YouTubers I admire, which made the moment even more special for me. »

This almost thirty-year-old sees this moment as a way to free yourself from all the pressure that she accumulates during the week. “I don’t talk to anyone about this passion, which we too often associate to children or retarded adults. I know my colleagues are not there and no one judges mebecause we are all here for the same thing: to have fun! This year, I’m thinking of taking the plunge and come in cosplay for the first time. I have always admired cosplayers for their creativity and passion… and this year, I feel ready to do it too. I chose to represent a character from my favorite video game and I spent weeks make my costume. I can’t wait to wear it and share this experience with other enthusiasts. »

A meeting place

Kamo Play is more than just a living room; It is a meeting place for fans geek culture and pop culture. The guests, the activities and the stands offer a total immersion in our favorite worlds, allowing you to meet people sharing the same passions and experience unforgettable moments. » Sophie underlines: “I find it reassuring that the organization puts in place strict security measures regarding replica weapons. This guarantees a serene atmosphere for all participants. We don’t think about anything other than living in the moment. »

But once the show is over, the time comes to find reality : “I don’t want to think about it!” I’m going to be in a special state on Sunday evening, that’s for sure! Between excitement and melancholy… and I couldn’t confide it to anyone because they wouldn’t understand me…” confides the thirty-year-old.
