The day after the National Rally’s victory in the first round of the legislative elections, 20 rappers released an anti-RN rap video. However, the words interpreted are at the heart of a controversy, the text being anti-Semitic, sexist and inciting physical violence.

Since the unprecedented success of the National Rally in the first round of the legislative elections on Sunday, June 30, more and more voices have been raised to call for a blockade against Jordan Bardella and the nationalist party. Among them, 20 rappers have spoken out through a 9-minute and 43-second song, called “No Pasaran” (They will not pass in French) and published on the YouTube platform.

This term was pronounced by the supporters of the Second Spanish Republic, between 1936 and 1939, in the fight against the nationalist rebels commanded by General Franco, whose uprising of July 17 and 18, 1936 triggered the Spanish Civil War.

In this new song, the rappers expressed their opposition to the National Rally through sometimes controversial and virulent remarks towards Jordan Bardella. “Shakes and tremors, f*ck the Rally (RN: editor’s note)”, sang rapper Fianso before launching: “My mouth, we vote against the pigs, Jordan you’re dead”.

Although it could be considered a death threat, the phrase “Jordan, you’re dead”, uttered by Fianso, refers to the slogan launched by Cédric Doumbé to his rival Jordan Zebo during an MMA fight at the Zénith in Paris on September 30, 2023 and taken up by the public as well as during anti-RN demonstrations.

Remarks considered anti-Semitic

In addition to the threats against Jordan Bardella, the collective of rappers returned to the situation in the Middle East with anti-Semitic words aimed at denying the existence of the State of Israel. “Long live Palestine from the Seine to the Jordan,” they sang.

With this phrase, the rappers have hijacked the slogan “Free Palestine, from the sea to the Jordan”, chanted in pro-Palestinian demonstrations for several months following the Israeli response to the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023. The slogan has caused a lot of ink to flow, particularly in Germany, to the point that its use can be considered a call for “extreme violence” or “Jewish genocide”.

In addition, during these 9 minutes and 43 seconds, the rappers took on the imam of Drancy, Hassan Chalgoumi, who would be, according to them, a “bad Muslim”. “F*ck Imam Chalghoumi and those who follow the Sheitan (demon: editor’s note) at all costs”, they said.

A concentration of violence and hatred that sometimes calls for murder, as indicated by the passage of the rapper Ashe 22, sung in the 3rd minute: “If the fascists pass, I’m going to come out with a big caliber (…) They deserve to die (editor’s note)”. Or again, the words interpreted by Alkpote in the 5th minute: “I reload the Kalashnikov, in Louis Vuitton like Ramzan Kadyrov”.

The latter sentence refers primarily to the camouflage-print Louis Vuitton jacket that Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of the Russian republic of Chechnya, reportedly wore during a trip to Bakhmut, Ukraine.

Also, in this same song, Marine Le Pen and Marion Maréchal were also attacked and subjected to sexual and sexist insults, notably through the passage: “Marine and Marion the whores, a blow of the stick on these bitches in heat”. The use of the term “blow of the stick” can also refer to the incitement to physical violence against the two female politicians.

On the social network X, Marine Le Pen reacted to this hit. “The New New Popular Front. It makes you want to, doesn’t it?”, she said. “I hope that the public prosecutor will take up this abjection,” she added.

For his part, Jordan Bardella castigated a “mental universe of the extreme left” which “is more and more toxic”.

Marion Maréchal thanked “this collective of cheesy rappers for the thousands of votes that their hateful video will bring to the candidates of the national union.”
