For the Adour of the game sees bigger this year

Un suspended moment, where the mind escapes, concentrated on playing. More than a hundred games are offered, old or modern. And the advantage is that you don’t even have to rack your brains to understand the rules: volunteers, around thirty, will be present to explain, support and connect the players.

For two days, Saturday November 30 and Sunday November 1is December 2024, the aptly named Pour l’Adour du jeux association is organizing the second edition of its board game festival in .

The first, last year, in November 2023, was a success. Nearly 1,000 people counted over two days in the Amélie-Charrière room. An unexpected success which even forced the organizers to refuse players, for security and insurance reasons. “There were a lot of people. We didn’t expect it. We even had to limit the entries to respect the capacity of the room, because there could only be 200 of us (at the same time, Editor’s note). Visitors were waiting outside, it was not suitable, it made us a little uncomfortable,” remembers Laurène Martinelli, volunteer with the association.

So, for 2024, L’Adour du Jeu has thought bigger by reserving with the Dax town hall the new event room in the stand of the Maurice-Boyau stadium, which can accommodate 400 people in seats at the same time. A more modern space as well, to better share this moment, with family, friends or alone.

Like last year, volunteers will be present to support and connect the players.

If on Saturday, the festival will continue until late at night, the event is also intended to be family friendly. “It’s a dimension that we want to keep. We developed a family corner and organized an early childhood area. This year we are subsidized by the CAF (Family Allowance Fund) to offer activities for children,” explains Laurène Martinelli. Board games will also be available for toddlers, from 2 and a half years old.

The festival is free. Visitors have everything to… gain.
