In an interview with Télé Magazine, Tomer Sisley spoke about the first days of filming. After bursting out laughing, he said: “I'm not the complaining type, I even adapt rather willingly. But I won't hide from you that the beginnings were hard. The first nights, I woke up every hour and, above all, the altitude had me had a hell of a headache”before slipping with humor:
“I notably have a selfie when I wake up where, I swear, my head is completely distorted! In short, it was rootsy, but I adapted, and what joy!“.
Tomer Sisley: “I am sincere, very curious about people”
If the actor agreed to participate in the show, he had refused it around fifteen years ago. “At the time, I was a very young father and leaving for two to three weeks was complicated”he said before specifying that this time, he had not
“didn’t hesitate for a second”. “Especially since this time,
I just had to say to my children: 'You know what? Dad's leaving!'“.
According to him, nature forces us to question ourselves. In this village of Dolpo, the inhabitants quickly entrusted to him. “I am sincere, very curious about people”he analyzed before adding: “Whether it's in the Dolpo or in the metro in Paris. When you show sincere interest in a person, things go well”.
Tomer Sisley: “It brings tears to your eyes”
Leaving Nepal, the 50-year-old actor was overcome by emotion. “These people welcomed us with open arms,
we shared unique moments. But when we have to leave, we know that there is a good chance that we will never see them again.”he indicated before specifying that when you are a little sensitive, “it brings tears to your eyes”.
Today, Tomer Sisley believes that this trip gave him
“an extraordinary life lesson”. “It's a moment that wasn't filmed, but that I think about regularly because, for me, there is a before and an after. You should know that the people who hosted us had goats that they kept to make cheese. It’s a real bargaining chip over there.”he recalled before ensuring that the manufacturing was “very physically demanding”.
