After celebrating his 90th birthday, King Albert and his wife are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.

This Tuesday, July 2, Albert and Paola celebrate their wedding anniversary. On the occasion of their rosewood wedding anniversary, they decided to bring their family together in their country residence in Châteauneuf-Grasse, in the south of France.

This year, King Albert II has had a string of major events. After celebrating his 90th birthday on June 6, the former sovereign is today celebrating 65 years of marriage with his wife Paola. Despite the many trials the couple has been through, Albert and Paola have always remained united.

The royal palace also released a new photo of the couple sitting on a bench in their residence in the south of France on social media.

In 2019, the couple also brought together Philippe, Astrid and Laurent as well as their 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary. The former sovereigns are also caring grandparents and have a special relationship with their grandchildren.

On Albert’s birthday, Prince Laurent and Princess Claire’s son, Prince Aymeric, posted a photo of the two of them on his social media, saying: “Happy Birthday, Apapa! May we share our love for cars forever.”.
