The Three Musketeers continues to inspire French cinema. Several months after the success of the version with François Civil as D’Artagnan, a female rereading of the novel by Alexandre Dumas is preparing to hit the screens.
In cinemas on January 22, 2025, All for one is the new film by Houda Benyamina, eight years later Divineswhich won the Caméra d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and then three César Awards, including Best First Film.
All for one follows Sara, a young girl on the run. When she discovers that the Three Musketeers who protect the Queen of France are actually women, she decides to join their fight to be free.
All for one brings together the two stars of Divines: Oulaya Amamra and Déborah Lukumuena. Daphné Patakias, seen alongside Virginie Efira in Blessedand Sabrina Ouzani (Pattaya) complete the distribution.
Filming in Occitania
The shooting of the film took place in 2023 in Occitanie, in Lac du Salagou, on the beach of Villeneuve-les-Maguelone, in the Hérault gorges and in the city of la Couvertoirade in Aveyron.
The diptych The Three Musketeers with François Civil, a big box office success, will be entitled to a third part in 2027, its producer Dimitri Rassam promised last June.
Two series derived from these films are also in preparation at Disney+: Milady Origins et Black Musketeer. And Ladj Ly, the director of Misérablesis finally preparing a film about the father of Alexandre Dumas, the first black general in the French army.
