Cher revealed she cut back on her partying after a drunken night out when she was younger left her fearing the worst and she visited her doctor to ask if she would survive.
She told The Times newspaper: “I don’t drink much” and added of her visit to the doctor: “Oh yeah, I was really scared.”
The singer then revealed that she drinks a glass of champagne from time to time, but only to please her friends.
She added: “Every now and then I have a glass of champagne with my friends just to shut them up, because otherwise they would make fun of me and be a real pain.”
Cher also told the publication that she gave up drugs when she was in her 20s, after having a bad experience as a teenager.
She said: “There was one time when I was a teenager where all my friends were doing this drug, a Quaalude or something, so I did it too. I was so upset that they were They put me in a car outside while they all went into a nightclub. That’s when I realized that me and drugs would never work.”
