“I’ve never had much help in life”: a stranger hides 10 to 200 euro notes all over the Aix-en-Provence region

For several months, the Instagram account “Mr. cashcache” has been talked about, especially in the Aix-en-Provence region. He becomes popular for his concept of a version of a treasure hunt, where he plants tickets all over the city.

A young man in his thirties hides behind a black hoodie and hides notes ranging from 10 to 200 euros in the Aix-en-Provence region. He hides the notes in the city and a few moments later, he posts the video on Instagram, where he has more than 4,000 followers, according to Provence.

The aim of this game is first come, first served, the first subscriber to discover the hiding place of the ticket wins. This concept is not new, there are several Instagram accounts in cities all over the world. That’s how he came up with the idea. “I stumbled across overseas accounts doing what I do today. I found the concept cool” he says.

But why give money like that?

His first goal is to try to help financially, to give a helping hand.”I’ve never had much help in life, so I wanted to do it. Money, most people need it. We’ve all had that satisfaction of finding a ticket in the street, but when you also take part in a little treasure hunt, it’s great” he explains.

It was also a way to motivate him to quit smoking. “That was also the starting point, I said to myself that the money I wasn’t spending on cigarettes, I could give away“, he admits.

One of his objectives for his account is to be able to make and create paid partnerships which will allow subscribers to obtain prizes offered by companies.
