Host Jean-Pierre Descombes, who presented the very popular show The 8 p.m. Games on FR3 from 1976 to 1987, died Sunday at the age of 76 at his home from Parkinson’s disease. According to his son Romain Descombe, he had been suffering from this neurological disease for more than ten years.

After The 8pm GamesJean-Pierre Descombes had been the voice-over for other successful entertainment shows in the 80s and 90s, The right price et A gold family on TF1. From 2018, he had participated in Cyril Hanouna’s shows on C8, such as Do not touch My TV! or The big laugh.

But Jean-Pierre Descombes remains best known for The 8pm Games, born at a time when there were only three channels in France.
