Host Jean-Pierre Descombes, who presented the very popular show The 8 p.m. Games on FR3 from 1976 to 1987, died Sunday at the age of 76 at his home from Parkinson’s disease. According to his son Romain Descombe, he had been suffering from this neurological disease for more than ten years.

But Jean-Pierre Descombes remains best known for The 8pm Games, born at a time when there were only three channels in France.
