Actor Bill Cobbs dies days after turning 90

The American actor Bill Cobbs, who we could see in particular in the film A Night at the Museum and in the TV series The Sopranosdied at the age of 90.

The latter passed away on Tuesday at his residence in California, his brother Thomas said on Facebook, a few days after his birthday.

“A beloved spouse, big brother, uncle, adoptive father, godfather and friend, Bill recently celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by his loved ones,” he wrote.


Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1934, Bill Cobbs worked in the military and then as a car salesman before moving to New York to pursue his dream of becoming an actor.

After a few theater roles, Mr. Cobbs made his big screen debut at the age of 40 appearing in the film Les Pirates du métro (The Taking of Pelham One Two Three).

For 5 decades, he has played many roles in several popular films and series such as The Color of Money, The Bodyguard, Tobby the star player, Six feet Under ground et The Scott brothers.

He was also seen in the 2006 film A Night at the Museum, released in 2006, as well as in one of its sequels, released in theaters in 2014. He played a former museum guard named Reginald.
