Opened on April 6, the exhibition at the Château de St-Maurice (VS) devoted to the work of Genevan Zep, creator of Titeuf, ended this Sunday, November 17. It will have welcomed 20,820 people, the third busiest behind those dedicated to the Smurfs and Petzi.
But the record could well fall next year since the Château announces that it will welcome Asterix! This is an event, since it will be the first major exhibition of the character of Goscinny and Uderzo in Switzerland. The hero just celebrated his 65th birthday on October 29. And 2025 will mark 55 years since the release of“Asterix among the Helvetii”so it was high time that the little Gaul and his slightly wrapped friend came back to us.
This exhibition will be all the more exceptional as it will be tailor-made for Saint-Maurice in collaboration with Éditions Albert René, which publishes the albums. “It will allow you to savor the narrative and graphic virtuosity of René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, to discover the origins of their series and, of course, to rediscover their most legendary stories,” communicates the Château, which specifies that a place special attention will be given to Astérix chez les Helvètes, “with views of personalities on the album, games for all audiences as well as a perspective on Swiss myths with which René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo brilliantly had fun”. We hope that the result will not be “flat” like Helvetia, according to Obélix’s memories.
