That day hit the airwaves – yes, at the time music was first listened to on the radio, streaming did not exist and MP3 was just starting to catch on – “Butterfly ”, a title by the American group Crazy Town. Based on a sample of “Pretty Little Ditty” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the song quickly rose to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, the benchmark ranking for singles in the United States. Then, she did the same elsewhere, whether in Europe or Oceania.
To date, “Butterfly” has nearly 240 million views on YouTube, a platform on which the title has been online for 14 years.
In total, the group has recorded three albums, the last dating from 2009, following a reformation.
Shifty Shellshock, one of the two singers of the group he also co-founded, was found dead Monday at his home in Los Angeles. The causes of his death are not known but it should be remembered that he had addictions. In the past, he was arrested for drunk driving and had problems with drugs.
