This Saturday, November 23, around ten actors from the Billiers theater association will take the stage of the Palais des arts to play out Scapin’s tricks. “We could have said Scapine because we are going to present a modern and feminized version. The roles of Scapin, Octave and Silvestre are played by women,” explains Frédéric Guesné, president of the theater association and who revisited this play by Molière.
“The text remains original but we add our touch. We play it in a contemporary way, the costumes and sets are of our time. »
The association has just started its fourth season but this is the first year that it has presented a play. “We performed in Billiers at the end of September. We are a theater association, called inclusive, because we run workshops within a care center specializing in mental health. Part of the profits is donated to the Aftercare and rehabilitation center in Billiers. These profits can make it possible to organize theater workshops but also to allow people to go see shows,” explains Frédéric Guesné, very happy with the great diversity within the troupe with the ages of the actors ranging from 14 to 84 years old.
