- 27 flags color the Grand’Rue de Villeneuve. They were created by artists from the region.
Until November, the Grand’Rue de Villeneuve will be decorated with banners representing paintings by artists from the region as part of the second edition of the “Nez en l’air” artistic event. New: lovers of words will also be able to join in the fun this summer, by participating in a poetry competition.
Participants will have to take inspiration from one of the 27 hanging flags to write a poem, a slam or a short prose text. No other instructions, in order to give free rein to the imagination of the candidates. Organized by the association The Scribewhich claims to be a “link between the arts and letters”, the competition is aimed at both adults and children, with prizes to be won in various categories.
Note that registrations are open until August 8, and that the results will then be announced on September 8, during Painters’ Day, another Villeneuvois cultural event. On this occasion, in addition to the results, the poets will be able to declaim their texts in the street, alongside the painters, in order to liven up this day.
