Martin Scorsese prefers not to go too far on TikTok.
The 81-year-old director has created buzz on the platform in recent years by appearing in videos of his 24-year-old daughter, Francesca.
When asked if he had turned down any concepts, Martin told People, “There have been a few. I don’t remember right away, but sometimes I’m like, ‘I think that’s going too far, darling’ But you know, she’s a good actress and she has a great sense of humor.”
The ‘Taxi Driver’ director admitted he had no idea what was going on when Francesca first involved him in the videos.
He added: “I didn’t know about TikTok. She said to me, ‘Dad, do this for a minute’. I did it, and the next moment it went around the world.”
Martin revealed earlier this year that he enjoyed his social media fame and described it as “kind of fun” compared to the more formal situations he’s used to as a filmmaker.
He told The Guardian newspaper: “Apparently I’ve been forced to engage with TikToks. It’s quite fun, actually. There’s something about suddenly breaking away from all the gimmicks. to be properly interviewed or to be featured at certain events, and suddenly we’re at home with our dogs, in our pajamas, and people laughing.”
