Created in 2010, the open Spotlight stage was designed so that each artist could confront the reality of an audience and test their sketches or present an extract from their show. An essential laboratory, because it is the public who is the interactive witness through silences, laughter and applause.
And very quickly, the room benefited from such a reputation that it became the essential meeting place for humor in Lille. Requests from artists who want to perform on this stage are pouring in from all over France, but not only that.

Prestigious names have passed… Careers have been born in this place, which offers no less than 750 curtain raisers per year.

In 2022, management changed with the arrival of SurMesures Productions. This is the opportunity to rethink things a little and breathe new life into things. In 2023 the first edition of the Spotlight Festival saw the light of day, under the leadership of its new manager Florian Hanssens. “The festival was born from the desire to liven up the gray days of November with a moment dedicated to laughter, giving pride of place to new talents and established artists.”

Confirmed or young prodigies, the Spotlight has a choice poster for us for this 2nd edition. Fifteen days, to discover or rediscover the artists of the stand-up scene.

“Around forty comedians, Florian Hanssens explains to us, chosen because they share the values of generosity and accessibility that we advocate all year round. They will reach diverse audiences, but will all have one thing in common: offering a moment of good humor!”

Jeanfi Janssens, Gérémy Crédeville, Mathieu Madénian, Julien Bing, Sandrine Laroche and Elisabeth Buffet for renowned artists.

Elisabeth Buffet, who, Florian Hanssens assures us, “will make you hit a bar, with his show “My stories of the heart »”. A show where the actress mainly reviews her romantic failures, otherwise it’s not funny. From restaurants in the dark to camping, from nudists to those nostalgic for the Third Reich, through surreal experiences, laughter guaranteed.
