Donald Trump is launching a crusade against several American media outlets, which he is suing for several billion dollars.

In the magazine Columbia Journalism Reviewit was revealed Thursday that Edward Andrew Paltzik, the future president’s lawyer, had sent a letter addressed to the New York Times and the publishing house Penguin Random House by claiming $10 billion in damages because of the publication of articles and a book critical of Donald Trump.
In the letter consulted by the CJR, the two targeted companies are accused of having “defamed the Trump brand, internationally recognized for its excellence, luxury and success in the entertainment industry” and by “maliciously defaming [Donald Trump] as a candidate for the most important office in the United States.
A spokesperson for New York Times declined to comment, and the publishing house did not respond to the magazine’s requests. However, in a response sent on October 31, the prestigious newspaper indicated that it “fully accepted the comments made by its journalists”, indicated a source familiar with the matter.
The CBS network is also being sued for $10 billion for editing the interview given by Democrat Kamala Harris on October 7. The television channel defended itself against the future president’s accusations, saying that the procedure “had no basis” and that it intended to defend itself “vigorously.”
Other media companies accused of having politically targeted the Republican candidate are also the subject of prosecution, including media Daily Beastaccused of reporting falsehoods about a donation given to Donald Trump’s campaign, and the Washington Postwhich is the subject of a complaint to the Federal Election Commission.
