The host lost his battle against NRJ. Indeed, this Friday, November 15, 2024, the Paris Court of Appeal ruled in favor of the radio in the dispute between it and its former host, Sébastien Cauet, as the commercial court did at first instance.
As a reminder, Nathalie Dartois' companion no longer officiates on NRJ since November 2023. At the time, he was the subject of a rape complaint against him. While he had initially decided to step aside, the radio then decided to sideline him for good.
What Cauet demanded from NRJ
A decision that did not satisfy Cauet. The latter then took legal action to reinstate the station on which he has worked for many years. In the end, he abandoned this action to request a payment of 4.5 million euros in compensation for the termination of his contract, as recalled BFMTV.
At first instance, the commercial court rejected this request and ruled in favor of NRJ. A similar decision was taken this Friday, November 15, 2024. In fact, the Paris Court of Appeal has just ruled in favor of the station and dismissed the presenter's case.
The radio, satisfied with this decision
A decision which the radio welcomes. Through a press release, it expressed its satisfaction. “The NRJ group welcomes the decision rendered today by the Paris Court of Appeal, in the proceedings between it and Mr. Cauet and his companiesconfirming the decision rendered at first instance by the Commercial Court, on May 7, 2024″, we learn via the press release.
“The decision rendered today by the Paris Court of Appeal in the dispute between the NRJ Group and the company BE AWARE, managed by Mr. Sébastien Cauet, causes deep disappointment. On the one hand, for my client, this decision confirms the rupture brutally imposed by NRJ, which forced BE AWARE to separate from all of its 24 employees. An unfair outcome, marked by the total absence of compensation and recognition of the work accomplished for more than 13 years of service to NRJ and its listeners”indicates in particular the press release.
