An evening that changed everything… Friday February 10, 2023, in Seine-et-Marne, Pierre Palmade's vehicle collided head-on with a car traveling in the opposite direction. In it were Yuksel Yakut, a father, his six-year-old son, Devrim, and his pregnant sister-in-law, Mila. If the young woman lost her baby and little Devrim was not spared, the driver underwent six surgical operations on his stomach, shoulders, legs, but also his feet.
“I have such intense pain that I am exhausted and feel like my brain is going to explode.”assured Yuksel Yakut on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in an interview given to Seven to Eight, on TF1, before specifying:
“The doctors told me that I would have after-effects. I no longer have feeling in three fingers. When I walk, the patches in my legs cause me a lot of pain. Even to wash myself or just walk, I have to ask my loved ones for help.”.
Pierre Palmade's trial will begin on November 20
While the comedian transformed his life “in sick”the father only wants one thing: “let him pay for what he has done”. For his part, Pierre Palmade has been particularly discreet for several months. Wednesday November 13, 2024, Rémi Deval, from the Décaféinés duo, confided in an interview with Télépro: “He’s a mentor to me. He taught me a lot. We all love him, I still love him. I have news from him, he is doing well“.
As a reminder, Pierre Palmade's trial will begin on Wednesday November 20, 2024 and he faces up to 14 years in prison and a fine of 200,000 euros. Lawyer Antoine Régley nevertheless believes that he will not be incarcerated. “He will not do them (the 14 years in prison). Today, people convicted of aggravated involuntary injuries are imprisoned in less than 5% of cases”he told BFMTV.
Pierre Palmade: “I ruined the life of a family”
Tuesday September 26, 2023, when he was questioned by the investigating judge during a hearing which lasted three hours, the comedian expressed remorse. As reported by Le Parisien, he had in fact declared: “I'm horrified to know that I'm the cause of all this… When I gradually learned of the seriousness, I first knew about the driver, I saw the full extent of the damage to the pregnant woman, in particular her fear of no longer being able to have children, that crushed me. It's monstrous. I ruined a family's life. I go to sleep and wake up with this, honestly”.
Upset, Pierre Palmade added: “I am responsible for the death of a child […] My accident killed that baby in her womb. Whether he died before or after childbirth, the result is the same, it's my fault.”.
