On Place Jean Bart in Dunkirk, Charlotte Dufour welcomed us to her land with a smile on her face. And for good reason, after an emotional stay in Normandy, she was crowned Miss Diamantissime 2025, a national beauty contest dedicated to curvy women. Her physique and personality allowed her to win against seven other candidates.
It is with great pride that she shows us her scarf and her tiara, which she will wear at every official outing during her reign. A year that she will dedicate to the fight against all forms of harassment.
“I would like to be able to tell people that when you want, you can. We can fight against prejudice, we can not accept harassment and violence. We’re here to show that everyone has the right to shine“, she explains.
Barely crowned, Charlotte Dufour is already recognized in the streets of Dunkirk. This is particularly the case of Muriel who saw her face in the regional daily press. “You can be beautiful when you have curves. It’s great what you do“, she congratulated her.
Charlotte Dufour has been preparing for this national competition for several months, since her election as Miss Diamantissime Nord-Pas-de-Calais last February. To honor her territory, she took advantage of this time to make a dress in the colors of the region.
She drew her inspiration from the history of the Dunkirk corsairs. She was able to count on the support of her mother to sew it. “It’s a dress that represents Nord Pas-de-Calais. It represents my life, my city. The badges are a nod to carnival and the little hat to our dear Jean Bart. I am a big fan of my region, I love being a tourist in my region“, she testifies.
Yellow, blue and fitted, this dress unabashedly reveals the Miss’s body. “The idea is to accept myself, why would I hide? We tinkered to give volume and cinch the waist to highlight the things that are good about us.“
” I wear a 48, I’m not ashamed to say it. I know how to dress and I would like people today not to hide behind things that are too big because they don’t have the right. We give ourselves the right“, estimates Miss Diamantissime 2025.
Restoring confidence in curvy people is part of his fight. This is evidenced by her commitment to the other Miss Diamantissime candidates. She does not hesitate to encourage them and give them valuable advice during their preparation for the election. “The goal is for them to feel good. Let them free themselves from their complexes” she explains.

For many, participating in this competition is a form of revenge on life. As evidenced by Shérazade Cheriguene, candidate: “It was complicated to accept myself as a younger curvy woman, I had a bit of harassment in middle and high school. Today I’m proud to show them that I got there.“
These complexes, Charlotte Dufour fights to deconstruct them: “people need to dare to wear color. Many try to camouflage themselves. You have to dare to step out of your comfort zone“With her election she hopes to fight.”against harassment in all its forms. Normality is what we set, so let’s be as we are.”
