Kurt Angle: ”I lost to Baron Corbin for nothing”

Baron Corbin is no longer under contract with WWE as mentioned on Catch-Newz. WWE made the decision to cut ties with him.

News that made fans react a lot and today, it’s up to Kurt Angle to share his opinion. We must not forget that at WrestleMania 35, Baron Corbin beat Kurt Angle to send him into retirement. Kurt Angle had already called this match a ‘stop-gap’ in the past and in his new statement for 2024, he adds that he ‘lost for nothing’.

Indeed, Kurt Angle was interviewed for WrestleZone and he said this:

”Baron Corbin, I think he’s underestimated. I think it’s kinda lame, they started using him like they should have, they made him beat me, which I didn’t mind, it was my last match and obviously you’re going to lose your last match when you retire. Baron Corbin, after that he ended up winning King Of The Ring and then nothing else happened with him. It’s a little disappointing knowing that he beat a legend at WrestleMania in the final match of his career and they didn’t really do much with him after that. For me, it makes me feel like I did it for nothing.”

Kurt Angle adds that WWE lost Baron Corbin through the different characters they created for him and that they made a mistake in preventing him from moving up the roster. He ends by saying:

”But Baron Corbin has a great personality, he didn’t need a character, he could be himself and he was entertaining as is. I was just a little disappointed that they didn’t do much with him and let him go.’

Good or bad decision to give victory to Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35?

It is still impossible to know which side Baron Corbin will go to now that he is no longer in the ranks of the Stamford federation.
