the essential
The circus arts cannot be conceived without great moments of sharing, collective, poetic, festive, where each of us can rediscover the soul of this age-old art.

Leaving room for dreams and imagination, the circus helps us understand the relationship with our body in movement, in space. It opens access to creativity in the aesthetics of gestures, allows access to letting go, to confidence in oneself and in others. Obviously, the circus is about exploit, risk, prowess and expression, aiming to trigger the emotion of the public in search of the fantastic, the exceptional, the extraordinary.
L’Estive could therefore do no less than offer two circus shows this weekend: Thaumazein, by the HMG company, on Thursday November 14 and Friday November 15 at 8:30 p.m., and Révolte, by the company Les Filles du fox pale, on Sunday, November 17 at 6 p.m.
But on the occasion of the Nuits du Cirque, from November 15 to 17, it is above all alongside a young circus collective from Ariège that the public is invited to extend their immersion and circus experience through practice and training workshops. initiation to the Estive de Foix.
It’s an opportunity for young and old, beginners or experts, to come and try the discipline(s) of their choice: collective acrobatics, handstands, aerials… a range of proposals and apparatus to physically enter the world of circus and touch with the tip of a finger an infinite field of creative possibilities.
At the helm, a collective of circus performers, artists and teachers from Ariège, whom you may know and who will take pleasure in transmitting and sharing their passion. The Circ’Ariège collective was created a little over a year ago. It came together around a common value, that of spreading and promoting the culture of circus arts in the Ariège region. Made up of professional and amateur circus artists, speakers or initiators, and teachers, this team seeks to share its passion both in the teaching of practice, as well as in the show and in the performance.

Circus Night: an international event

La Nuit du Cirque is a major annual event created in 2019 which celebrates the circus in all its facets and in all territories in and abroad. It is a moment suspended in the Heart of Autumn, unifying and festive to share together the vitality and diversity of this resolutely popular and demanding art by highlighting the circus’s commitment to societal and environmental struggles, as well as its intercultural and intergenerational dimension. It is a photograph of the diversity of circus creation at the moment, which tells over the course of the editions the story of an art in permanent change that is perfectly permeable to the major questions which are the subject of societal debate.
