It’s the return of the most magical period at Disneyland Paris! Since November 9, “Disney Enchanted Christmas” has made a comeback with its 24-meter-high tree at the entrance to the main park. A season launch which brings record attendance and a destination which is sold out over this long weekend of November 11.
Among the classics of the period, the Christmas parade played twice a day or the new drone at the heart of the Disney Electrical Sky Parade special Christmas. So much good news that should delight fans. However, something new has made fans of the park jump.
A Christmas parade… with extra charge!
The Christmas parade stops for a show in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. On this occasion, the floats stop and the characters climb onto the 4 stages of the central hub in front of the castle. It is a major part of the parade with projections on the castle, choreography and pyrotechnics.
The “guests” (visitors according to Disneyland Paris) often sit in the heart of these 4 stages to enjoy the show in 360°. But now, half of this area is reserved, which angers fans, as reported by the Union.
Indeed, if visitors wish to take advantage of this reserved area (and therefore the best location to see the show), they must not only arrive in advance but above all… pay extra.
21€ is the price to have a location “premium” and enjoy the parade which was free before (finally included in the price of the ticket). It was already a high cost to go to Disney, so these additional costs will cool more than one) This option is part of the Disney Premier Access program which allows you to skip the lines, have a reserved seat during shows.
Attractions with reduced opening hours
Another point of tension, from November 16, attractions will have staggered opening hours. The objective is to reduce operational costs. This restriction will take place from November 16 to January 5, 2025. That is to say during the period with the highest attendance for the park.
Here are the affected attractions and their new opening times: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (noon), Autopia (11 a.m.), Fairy Tale Land and Casey Jr (11 a.m.) and Cars Road Trip (11 a.m.)
This news once again disappointed the many fans who found it difficult to understand the reasons given. Above all, it recalls an older period when only 3 zones out of the 5 opened in the morning. But at the time, the park’s finances were in much worse shape than in recent years.
Regardless, Christmas remains the best time to enjoy the Disney parks. Let’s hope that these new features don’t spoil the magic of the families who come in large numbers at the end of the year.
