The story began in Lyon (Rhône) before continuing in the Morbihan. Self-taught artist-designer, Hervé Isle de Beauchaine began his career in industrial design and created exceptional lighting fixtures from parts from the industrial world.
In 1994, his wife Marie de Foucauld decided to join him in the adventure. The couple then gave birth to the company Hisle (pronounced Achille), a company born in Lyon and established in Vannes, in Morbihan, since the summer of 2021.
A “pioneer” company on the wireless lighting market
The Hisle company, specializing in the creation of lighting fixtures, was initially aimed at “individuals”, recalls Anne-Laure Jacob. Over the years, the company has grown to reach prestigious clients. “In the 2000s, Hisle launched into mass manufacturing,” explains the communications and customer relations manager.
A cordless table lamp with a discreet design, the Luxciole, marketed at the end of the 2020s, allowed Hisle to carve out a place for itself on the global market. “This lamp was the result of a lot of development work,” informs Anne-Laure Jacob.
This emblematic product allowed the company specialized in the edition, manufacturing and artistic crafts to become a “pioneer” in the wireless lighting market.
From Vannes, Hisle works for prestigious establishments
Established in the city of Vénètes since 2021, the company which recently took up residence on rue Denis Papin in Plescop has continued to develop over the years. “Between 2015 and 2020, the company experienced strong growth thanks to its flagship product,” explains Anne-Laure Jacob.
Today, Hisle targets “prestigious establishments” such as hotels or restaurants as well as individuals with its lighting designed for interiors and exteriors. “We work with a lot of architects and designers,” explains the communications manager. Crystal makers and decorators are also among the company’s clients.
In Brittany, the lighting created by Hisle can be seen in particular at the Riverside restaurant in Arradon, at the Domaine de Locguénolé in Kervignac, at the Hôtel Brittany & Spa in Roscoff and at the Grand Hôtel in Dinard. The company also worked for the Hôtel de Limur in Vannes.

A showroom open to the public near Vannes
Thirty years after its creation, the company which works almost exclusively with a high-end clientele employs around fifteen people. “We still have a workshop in Lyon with three employees. By remaining present in Lyon, the idea was to maintain our network of partners,” says Anne-Laure Jacob.
The company which recently installed its showroom open to the public and its workshop in Plescop has no shortage of projects for the future. “We want to continue to develop by working with major French luxury houses,” announces the communications and customer relations manager.
