TV, what next? This summer, Jean Blancpain and Loan Olivier burst onto the screen in the TF1 telecrochet show, “The Voice”. After having passed the stage of blind auditions, the 13-year-old Talençais and the 12-year-old Mérignacais had reached the “Battles” stage, guided by their respective coaches, Claudio Capéo and Patrick Fiori.
And now ? The spotlights of the Saint-Denis plain went out almost a year ago – the filming took place between October and December 2023. But those of the celebrity continue to dazzle them. “A week ago, someone recognized me in an airport in New York,” Loan says astonished. “People come to see me. I wasn’t expecting it, but it’s quite nice,” says Jean.
But above all, their artistic spark has not been extinguished. “Singing at the choir, theater at the performing arts association and piano at home” for Jean. “Hip-hop dance at the Studio Attitude academy in Eysines and classical dance at the Vanessa Feuillatte academy – who also participated in “Koh-Lanta”,” explains Loan. The world is small.
So small that the paths of the two young Girondins, who had separated after the show, crossed again, thanks to an incredible combination of circumstances. “We realized that we knew the same podiatrist,” smiles Vanessa, Loan’s mother. “I said to myself that we absolutely had to meet again and we organized a dinner. »
Homecoming
It was time for a reunion between families of TV veterans – “an extraordinary experience for the children but very demanding for the parents: we spent our days locked up without a telephone during recordings”, describes Florence, Jean’s mother. But there was no question of memories – “While we, the parents, were having an aperitif, the children locked themselves in a small studio which was set up in the attic to prepare a show for us”. Dance, theater, singing, with the complicity of Matthieu, 15 years old, Jean’s big brother in the role of Ringmaster and management genius: smoke, sound system, light, curtains…
The effusive Loan “always wanted to be a star.” Jean is more introverted and barely knew the show
“It’s amazing how they get along so well. None of Loan’s friends share his passions,” rejoices Vanessa. “There is a real artistic connection,” admires Florence. However, the two boys have very different temperaments. The effusive Loan “always wanted to be a star.” Jean is more introverted and barely knew the show. “At first, I just took part to accompany a friend. »
The two mothers assure us: it was not they who “pushed” their children to the front of the stage. “We didn’t even know what we were getting ourselves into. On the other hand, on site, we came across other parents who were not in the same approach and reacted as if it was they themselves who were eliminated! » Florence is still surprised.
In the end, everyone remained themselves. Jean remains more focused on the theater. “And for me, it reassured me in my project and it made me think about how to achieve it,” assures Loan. This Saturday, November 9, he participated in a concert to benefit the animal cause with the Friends of Graoux in Belin-Béliet. You’re either a star or you’re not.
