The hero festival started this Saturday 9th and ends Sunday 10th November at Parc Chanot in Marseille. For its tenth edition, more than disguises, cosplays are there. Back in pictures.

They play the roles of the characters whose costume they wear. At Chanot Park, this weekend of November 9 and 10, you will come across carefully crafted manga, comics, animals and all other creatures. Our team Sonia Boujamaa and Virginie Danger spent part of the afternoon there. A look back, in pictures, at the visitors they saw.
Already in the queue, colors, characters and makeup are everywhere. Our team crossed paths with Cleopatra, who claims to have spent two years customizing her outfit. “It’s cool, it’s a bit of a house of drafts“, she confides with a smile.
Indeed, many spent time preparing. This is the case for Mitsuri, who woke up at six o’clock for her makeup.
And when our team hands their microphone to two Star Wars characters, they respond in a language that only fans can understand…
In the middle of the crowd, our team takes advantage of the presence of the organizer and founder of this festival, Annabelle Lefevre, to note some figures: 40,000 visitors are expected to wander through 25,000 square meters of exhibitors.
Here no one is disguised, it is more about the art of cosplay, that is to say: “embody the character, the goal is to take his personality, his character, to embody it in real life. You have to make the difference with the disguise for a quick party and which is often a cliché of a character. The cosplay is much more accurate. For example, we can use period fabrics to be closer to the character.“, explains Clément, who plays the character of Gourou.
At the hero festival our team met Tinkerbell, babies, children, parents, the car back in the future and a whole bunch of other stuff…
One hundred artists are also invited. The festival is free for children under ten. It costs 18 euros for a day.
