The Ildys foundation, which carries out “Culture and Health” artistic projects, has joined forces with the artistic association “Les Means du bord”, based in Morlaix, to carry out the “Memories that are woven and embroidered” project. The restitution of the project was carried out on November 8, 2024, at the Perharidy cultural space, in Roscoff, by Sandrine Sturlini, in charge of cultural affairs.
Creation of a collective textile book
At his side, proposed by the Means du Bord for the realization of the project, was the artist-designer Liz Hascoët whose tools are ink, engraving and embroidery. The project involved residents of the Keraudren and La Source nursing homes and users of the Ty Yan addictology SSR. “During the first meetings on the sites, the observation of the gardens and the discussions made some flowers stand out. It was then through the gesture – that of drawing and embroidery – that the creation of links could continue,” explains the artist.
These meetings led to the creation of a collective textile book bringing together all the embroideries made on the three sites.
