INTERVIEW – A punchy director, Steve McQueen creates a surprising war film for children. Screened in a few Parisian cinemas this weekend, this odyssey once again makes the Irish actress shine.

Visual artist, documentary filmmaker, director of punchy and political films, Steve McQueen is not the first name that comes to mind for a war film. The Oscar-winning filmmaker Shame, 12 Years A Slave , Small Axe surprise with Blitzportrait of a little boy whose mother sends him to the countryside to escape the Nazi bombings of London. Unable to bear the separation, George leaves his chaperones behind and wanders through a ruined English capital in search of his loved ones.

Before going live on Apple + on November 22, Blitz will be visible in French cinemas under exceptional visa, this weekend, Saturday November 9 and 10 in some cinemas*.
