It is with peace of mind that the Algerians will challenge Liberia this Sunday for the sixth and final day of qualifying for the next African Cup of Nations (CAN) in Morocco.
First in their group with 13 points and four victories in five matches for a draw, Vladimir Petkovic’s men have known that they will play in the CAN next winter since October 14 and their victory (1-0) against Togo. Behind, Equatorial Guinea also validated its ticket for the competition, at the expense of Liberia and Togo.
Indeed, with four small points and three defeats, Liberia saw its chances of qualification disappear. But a victory on Wednesday (1-0) against Togo was able to warm the hearts of the Liberians.
In Tizi-Ouzou, scene of this last match of 2024 for the Fennecs, they will want to end these qualifications without incident and above all, without defeat. A way to best continue qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, which resumes next March. With three victories and one defeat, the Algerians are currently at the top of their group.
