Multidisciplinary competition in French, UdeM in show allows you to discover the talent of the student community during a colorful evening presented at the Essay Center, the performance hall of the University of Montreal.

Announcement of the finalists

The 7 finalist numbers were selected during jury auditions from more than 20 numbers performed. On the musical side, the evening will allow us to appreciate the talents of composer-performer of Bianca Matos (preschool education and primary education), interpretation in singing of Shahd Al Nabwani (biochemistry), author-composer-performer in guitar and singing by Émilie Bédard (musical writing), piano singer-songwriter by Roman Yves-Dupuy (sociology) and violin performance by Antoine Fradkin (music).

On the theater side, the public will be able to salute the talent as a singer-songwriter of Jose Danielle Beauvil (communication sciences) and a drag queen number will be presented by Alexandra Moss (law).

A variety of guests on stage

The entertainment of the evening will be entrusted to two members of the Théâtre Université de Montréal troupe, Hassan Kabalan (law) and Léanne Proulx-Leroi (free studies), and the direction of the show will be provided by Émanuel Frappier (graduate of the National Theater School of Canada).

During the evening, in addition to the presentation of the public prize, the jury, composed of Marie- Jacques (performer and dance teacher), Geneviève Jodoin (singer-composer and graduate of UdeM) and Adam Provencher ( scenographer), will have, for the first time, the difficult task of designating the first, second and third places. These winners will be awarded recognition scholarships with a total value of $1,300. The big winner will represent the University of Montreal at the national final ofU in show on March 29, at the Plaza Theater, where finalists from 10 Quebec universities will perform.

During the jury’s deliberations, Jeremy Chhor will offer a performance to the public. A UdeM student studying for a bachelor’s degree in physical education and health, he won the edition ofUdeM in show in 2023 thanks to a touching comedy number which addressed the themes of cultural identity, racism and unconscious bias.

A competition that promotes the French language

Orchestrated by the Cultural Activities of Student Life Services, this competition aims to invite the UdeM student community to express their creativity in French. Thanks to a grant from the En français naturally! of the Ministry of the French Language, the University of Montreal will be the organizer of the national final ofU in show on behalf of the Interuniversity Student Life Regroupment, which will be presented in collaboration with UdeM français.

To applaud all these student talents and experience an evening that promises to be rich in emotions, all you have to do is reserve your place through the online ticket office.
